ARCHITECTURE IN ITALIAN MOVIES
The panelists will discuss how filmmakers use architecture not as a backdrop and content of the film but as a device to materialise the inner conflict of their characters. He will show one or two clips from different movies that show cases the use of “doors” to illuminate the concept.
Learning objective:
- Examine the role of architecture in visual storytelling
- Use architecture and space as a storytelling device
- Identify subjective ideas that is objectified through use of space

The speaker will illustrate preservation and restoration work accomplished over the past 20 years. Individual projects accomplished by E & A and others will be used to describe how the field of restoration is adapting, and sometimes resisting the needs of our current society.
